Drew joined M&T Bank in 2016 and is a Relationship Manager in the Bank’s Central and Southern Virginia Region. In this role, Drew develops new, and deepens existing, commercial client relationships with middle market and large corporate companies across Virginia. Drew’s portfolio includes defense services, construction, and manufacturing companies. At M&T, Drew serves as the Chapter President for the Mid-Atlantic Veterans Resource Group. He is also the Corporate Representative for the United Way.
Prior to joining M&T Bank, Drew served as an Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps from 1996 to 2016. During this time he led Marines at the platoon, company, station and battalion level. He also served as a strategic planner, was an advisor to the Iraqi Army, and managed a $400 million ground combat capability portfolio of equipment and weapon systems. These roles required multiple deployments to Japan, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan, including leading a rifle company to retake Fallujah in 2004, advising the Iraqi Army during the Anbar Awakening in 2006, and planning the withdrawal for a force of 5,000 while under enemy pressure from Afghanistan in 2012. His combat performance was recognized with three Bronze Stars with one Combat Distinguishing Device and a Purple Heart.
Drew graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with merit in 1996, graduated with distinction in earning his Master of Military Science from Marine Corps University in 2011, and received his MBA with a concentration in finance from the Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Polytechnic University in 2017. He lives in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife and four children.
