Kendra Davenport serves as the Chief Development Officer for Operation Smile where she manages U.S. and global philanthropy, mass market and digital fundraising, brand marketing and communications. She has spent three decades working exclusively in the nonprofit arena, specializing in development. Much of her career has been devoted to the cultivation of funding relationships with corporations that capitalize on the growing commitment of national and multi-national companies to meaningful, metric-driven CSR. Working closely with C-suite industry leaders, Davenport has designed and implemented a myriad of mutually beneficial national initiatives including: point of purchase sales programs, co-branded marketing and advertising campaigns, and a host of major special events. As philanthropy has evolved, Davenport has helped several NGOs diversify their philanthropic portfolios to keep pace with change and growth propelled largely by technology. She possesses extensive management experience, having overseen more than 1,000 African national staff across 18 Sub-Saharan countries in a previous position and has managed several complex national development and communications portfolios, served as president of a small nonprofit, and as a philanthropy and communications consultant to several to nonprofit and proprietary organizations.
