Jaime Fernandez is the CEO of Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health located in Norfolk, VA. Kempsville Center provides the region’s greatest designation of acute crisis stabilization services with capacity for 48 children and adolescents ages 4 to 18. Children, adolescents and families from all over Virginia have received care at Kempsville Center. Kempsville also provides residential treatment services for up to 34 adolescents in need of a longer-term, therapeutic environment that focuses on individualized treatment and family-centered engagement.
In October 2014, Kempsville Center launched the region’s only child and adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that serves up to 40 children and adolescents ages 8 to 18. This program provides intensive outpatient treatment for ongoing mental health issues. In 2017, Kempsville Center added a Substance Abuse Treatment PHP for adolescents.
Kempsville Center has continued to be a committed community partner and advocate for increased awareness of child and teen mental health services.
