This summer, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce launched an exciting and free community outreach program to help its members and others in the community save 10-85% on prescription drugs. The ChamberRx prescription drug card is a proven program that has the support of a top 10 pharmacy benefits manager and a network of more than 58,000 pharmacies nationwide. As of September 24, twenty-two chambers in Virginia are participating in the ChamberRx card program. There have been 323 prescriptions filled. Cardholders have saved more than $5,600 on drug costs – an average of $17.45 per prescription. The average savings is 36%, and the highest is 86%.
Hampton Roads Chamber member Cindy Hagemann, Marketing Director for Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer, P.C., said, “I used the prescription drug discount card and saved $20 on my $98 prescription that is not covered by my insurance company. That was $20 that I would not have saved if it were not for the ChamberRx card!”
There is no cost to sign up. There are no health restrictions, no obligations, and no limits on prescriptions. Cardholders simply print their name on the card and present it along with their prescription at a participating pharmacy. For individuals without insurance, the card provides much needed savings on prescriptions not covered by insurance.
ChamberRx cards are available free to the public. A limited number of cards are available at the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce at 500 East Main St., Suite 700, Norfolk, or a print-ready page is available for download at www.ChamberRx.com. For more information, or if your business would like to provide cards to employees, please contact Loree Peele in member benefits at 757-664-2523.
