WIDGHR to Host Annual Professional Development Day

 

NORFOLK, Va. – Women in Defense, Greater Hampton Roads (WIDGHR), will host the seventh annual Professional Development on September 22, 2016 at the Founders Inn.

 WIDGHR is a local chapter of the National Security organization, National Defense Industrial Association, and is the fourth largest chapter in the country.  Tickets are $55 for members, $60 for non-members.  A limited number of sponsorships are also available.

 The event is marked by a wide array of breakout sessions supporting the conference theme “Educate, Collaborate, Motivate”– from learning to expertly navigate the SBA Mentor-Protégé Program and eVA, the Commonwealth of Virginia’s eProcurement Portal, to mastering networking, branding and marketing, and interpersonal skills, this full-day event has something for all professionals in the Hampton Roads business community.

 Keynote speaker is noted local broadcaster Cathy Lewis, host of the eponymous “HearSay with Cathy Lewis” on WHRV.  Sponsors Newport News Shipbuilding and PNC Bank are key to providing this annual event to the community and support WIDGHR throughout the year.

 Luncheon speaker is Liz Chandler, Performance Coach with Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industry.  Back by popular membership demand, the agenda will also include a special lunchtime panel that will discuss “The Best Mistake I Ever Made.” Panelists include:
