On Tuesday, November 6th, Virginians will take to the polls. The Hampton Roads Chamber works to be an impactful advocate for the region. We provide the access to candidates and lawmakers to help business men and women make sound choices at the polls.
The citizens of Virginia Beach have the opportunity to vote and select their Mayor and City Council members. These important elected officials manage our municipal operations that ultimately impact the business community and will lead Hampton Roads into the future.
In August, The Virginia Beach Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber conducted in – depth analysis of the candidates for Mayor and City Council. This included questionnaires, forums and interviews with all candidates on the issues specifically impacting the region’s economy, quality of life, education, and workforce development.
The Executive Committee held a special meeting to review all available data and recommend a slate of candidates to the full Virginia Beach Board. The Virginia Beach Division Board returned their individual votes on September 7th. The Virginia Beach Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber did not endorse a candidate in the Bayside District because neither candidate reached the required 70% threshold for endorsement.
After this extensive candidate evaluation process, the Virginia Beach Division has endorsed the following candidates for Mayor and City Council and respectfully urge the membership of the Hampton Roads Chamber to vote for them on Tuesday, November 6th. Voting for all levels of government is important for our participatory democracy.
