Virginia ranks as number 2 in the country for best state for business and careers, second only to Utah according to an October 13 article in Forbes. The rankings are based off measurements from six different categories for businesses. The categories include business costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, current economic climate, growth prospects, and quality of life. Forbes’ rankings are based off statistics from 10 data sources which factor in 33 points of data for the categories. Virginia, who has in the past four years ranked number 1 in the country for best business, continues to host a competitive, solid economic growth and educated labor supply, but drops to number 2 mainly because of rising business costs.
