Spooktacular Monster Mega Mixer & Business Showcase
The event showcased more than 100 exhibitors and 600 attendees

More than 600 business men and women attended the Chamber’s Monster Mega Mixer & Business Showcase on October 13th at The Westin Hotel Town Center. The event showcased more than 100 exhibitor booths, filling the vicinity with excitement and opportunity. Members from every type of business were there to make connections and market their brand. In the spirit of Halloween, businesses got creative and decorated their booths, and some even dressed up in costume, grabbing the attention of all who attended.

Sylvia Whitaker representing Southeastern Virginia Health Systems truly enjoyed this event, “We come because of the attendance and the enthusiasm from all of the vendors. Everybody really gets into decorating their tables, the costumes are great, and the personalities are wonderful. It’s very welcoming and enjoyable.”

The Monster Mega Mixer has the honor of being the largest B2B networking event the Chamber offers its member clients. Stella Salyer, from the Chesapeake Conference Center was in attendance and commented, “This is such a great event! Last year, I came as an attendee but was so impressed by all the businesses we decided to exhibit this year.” Chesapeake Conference Center was the Presenting Sponsor this year.

John Ramsey with one of the host sponsors and his business, Lumos Networks really took advantage of this event, “For me and my organization it is a great time and place for us to get our name out there. We are a new company in the area and this event allows us to network throughout the community and meet new contacts and establish those relationships.”

Businesses of all sizes attend and benefit from the services and products that are available. Business represented range from real estate agents, financial experts, tourism or technology services, and much more.

Mega Mixer, now in its fourth year, started out as an event for members to showcase themselves and make great connections, but over time it has become much more than that. Summer Chanley with the Modern Femme Movement said, “We love coming to this event because we are connecting with so many like-minded businesses and get the chance to see familiar faces.”

Diane Raihle, Senior Business Development Specialist with the Hampton Roads Chamber heads up this event and was very pleased with the turnout. “This gives new members a chance to introduce themselves to the business community, but in a fun, relatively stress-free environment. We work very hard at the Chamber to get our members started off on the right foot, helping them to make the kind valuable connections they’ll need to make their businesses succeed. Not only did guests make great connections, but they had a night filled with fun.”
