United States Senator-elect Tim Kaine to Serve as Keynote Speaker

WHAT:  The 28th Annual Meeting of the Membership is the Chamber’s premier annual event. This event is one of Hampton Roads’ largest gatherings of business leaders and elected officials, with nearly 700 expected. The Chamber will recognize outgoing and incoming volunteer leadership.  The USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia has invited guests from Virginia's Wounded Warriors® program to attend the luncheon.

WHO:  U.S. Senator-elect Tim Kaine will serve as Keynote Speaker.  Kaine, who was elected on November 6, 2012, has served people throughout his adult life as a missionary, fair housing attorney, teacher, and elected official.  He entered political life in 1994, running for the Richmond City Council to help bridge divisions in city leadership.  He served as a Councilman and Mayor until 2001 when he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Virginia and served for four years with then-Governor Mark Warner. In the midst of America’s deepest recession in 70 years, Tim kept the state’s budget balanced by making more than $5 billion in targeted spending cuts and led the state to national recognition.
