The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the City Luncheon will be held in Suffolk on Thursday, May 14 at noon at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront Hotel and Conference Center (100 East Constance Road).Suffolk Mayor Linda Johnson will highlight key business development initiatives, provide strategic municipal progress updates, address challenges and opportunities in the city, and provide a glimpse into the city’s future. Approximately 500 of the region’s business, political, and community leaders are expected to attend this sold out event.
The Suffolk luncheon is the fifth event in the State of the City series. The series kicked off in February in Norfolk, followed by events in Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Chesapeake. The Chamber's State of the City Series has become the preferred forum for elected officials and mayors to communicate with their constituents and are often sold out events. State of the City addresses are annual updates of each city's progress over the past year and agenda for the year to come. Each address is held in the featured city and is given by the mayor of that city. This event is a forum for interaction among leaders in attendance.
Thanks to Series Sponsors: TowneBank (Presenting); Newtown Building Supplies (Building the Future Partner); Bon Secours Virginia Health Systems (Platinum); Geico (Gold); Cox (Media); and Sentara Optima Health Plan (Silver).
