Chamber Establishes Green Initiatives Committee

Many businesses and organizations are realizing the importance and added value of “going green,” and it’s an achievable goal for small and large businesses.  There are simple steps that any business can take to become more environmentally sustainable and save your business money.  Going green is an on-going process and it’s important to have access to support and good resources along the way.

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce has established a Green Initiatives Committee to help businesses and organizations in Hampton Roads take the steps to become more sustainable.  The mission of this committee is to lead and engage the business community in green initiatives, by providing education and programs to the region.  In order to do this, the committee’s goals include developing web-based resources, conduct educational programs, and conduct and provide networking opportunities to Chamber members.

The committee is pleased to announce the launch of the Green Initiatives webpage on the Chamber’s website.  You can also access this page by visiting www.HamptonRoadsChamber.com, and going to the "Resources" tab.  This webpage includes reliable information from different organizations and information on third-party certification programs.

The committee holds monthly meetings.  For more information or if you’d like to join the committee, please contact Chair Lacy Kuller at lacyk@signsbytomorrow.com
