NORFOLK, VA (March 28, 2017) – The City of Norfolk and Waterside District are hosting a hiring event April 3 - 7, 2017, as part of the Norfolk Works initiative to support hiring efforts and build talent pipelines for Norfolk businesses. Waterside District is seeking applicants for all types of positions, including servers, cooks, bartenders, kitchen staff and other front and back-of-the house roles for the new dining and entertainment district.
Interviews will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the week-long Waterside District hiring event which will be held at the Norfolk Works office located at 100 Bank Street in Norfolk. To participate in the hiring event, applicants are asked to follow these steps:
The City of Norfolk established Norfolk Works to align its economic and workforce development efforts, champion the recruitment of Norfolk talent to support business expansion, and help Norfolk citizens prepare for and connect to meaningful employment opportunities. Although Norfolk Works is focused on Norfolk residents, interested and qualified applicants throughout the Hampton Roads region are invited and encouraged to apply.

Waterside District will be a place where the community can come together with family and friends for entertainment, a full range of culinary options, nightlife and activities for all ages. It will feature the best of local, regional and national restaurants and will offer music, festivals and more. Waterside District will open with private events in late April and officially open to the public on May 4.
