In 2011 Pond opened an office in the Hampton Roads area to support its growing network of national contracts for DoD Clients such as the Army Corp of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering (NAFAC) and the National Guard. Along with the acquisition of CEGG, Pond was able to expand its scope of services to include higher education and municipal projects.
In 2016, Dewey Jones, AIA, joined Pond as its Navy Program Manager and in October 2017, Jones became the Program Manager for the Virginia office location. Jones has over 26 years of architecture/engineering/construction experience ranging from local to international projects. He has also served as a design and community activist and volunteer for multiple Hampton Roads cities and communities.
“I’m excited to lead a local team that is part of a full-service planning, architectural and engineering firm with such a vast array of specialty engineering programs such as fueling and environmental design in addition to the traditional A&E horizontal and vertical design services,” said Jones. “Joining Pond has allowed me to expand my industry knowledge, while adding to the design and consulting options for our Hampton Roads clients.”
