"Try It Local" Program Offers Great Local Deals

Try It Local LogoThe Chamber will soon launch a new program called Try It Local, an electronic discount program featuring local retailers, restaurants, service providers and more.  New deals are offered one day a week at a deep discount of 40-90% off regular price (i.e., $20 of food and drink at a restaurant for $10). The offers are delivered to Try It Local subscribers via email, social media, and TryItLocal.com.

How Try It Local works:

  • A local business offers a product or service at 40% off or more. Deals may include discounts at local retailers, bars, salons, dry cleaners, attractions and special events.
  • The Deal program is offered to participants by email, on TryItLocal.com and via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
  • Interested buyers click through to purchase the offer.  Anyone can participate/subscribe. There is no cost to sign up for Try It Local.
  • Buyers print off the voucher and redeem it at the local business.

The first deal will arrive and a new deal will be released every week thereafter.  The company offering the deal keeps 70% of the day’s total sales and is responsible only for determining the deal and preparing to meet the increased demand for its product or service.

There is no cost to sign up for Try It Local – visit www.TryItLocal.com/HamptonRoads to receive deal alerts. There is also no cost for companies to offer a deal; businesses interested in being featured can visit TryItLocal.com for details. Businesses offering deals must be members of the Hampton Roads Chamber.

The Try It Local program has helped consumers across the country save over $520,000 by using these vouchers and has sent over 16,000 customers to featured local businesses.

Hampton Roads residents and business owners can visit www.TryItLocal.com/HamptonRoads for more information and to sign up, or call the Chamber’s Membership Department at 757-664-2504.
