Grand Opening of Norfolk, VA Aspen Dental Office - First in Virginia

Did you know that 92 of the 133 counties in Virginia are known as dental health professional shortage areas by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services? This includes the City of Norfolk, meaning those residents are medically underserved and lack access to dental care due to factors such as distance and cost. In fact, Virginia is ranked just 20th out of 51 states (including DC) in dental care.

Norfolk, VA – Dr. Mark Turkewitz is opening the very first Aspen Dental practice in the state of Virginia on Thursday, July 19. The practice will bring a strong commitment to improving access to dental care with passionate, well-trained dentists as well as community engagement initiatives.

What: Ribbon Cutting (“Floss Cutting”) Grand Opening ofthe first Aspen Dental in Virginia.

The Norfolk practice is opening to provide a haven in this dental desert. The practice is led by Dr. Mark Turkewitz, who graduated from Temple University’s Dental School. He fell in love with the Aspen Dental community and its ability to provide easier access to superior dental care for a wide breadth of patients. Dr. Turkewitz is thrilled to step into his new role as a practice owner in the Eastern Coastal area of Virginia, and he and his team will provide dental services ranging from general dentistry and preventive care to dentures and restoration.  Dr. Turkewitz is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and holds a certification for performing Invisalign related procedures. He has placed a strong emphasis on continuing his education and development in implant related dentistry, completing over 400 hours of continuing education in this discipline.
