Portsmouth, VA - Eggleston, a non-profit specializing in education, training and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities in Hampton Roads, runs a program known as Collaborative Community Connections, or C3, in partnership with The City of Portsmouth to help the underemployed population remove barriers and find employment. On Tuesday, March 26th from 10 am – 2 pm, they will hold an event titled “From Opposition to Opportunity” (O2O) at the Neighborhood Recreation Facility, 900 Elm Ave. Portsmouth, VA 23704.
The goal of this event is to assist those in need across the region who might be struggling to secure viable employment due to specific barriers. Often, our more vulnerable populations such as adults or veterans with disabilities and our homeless find themselves with items in their background or barriers in their current situation that prohibit them from finding, and keeping, a steady job. On Tuesday, March 26th, the O2O event can solve many of those problems all at once!
There will be on the spot interviews, experts available for Q&A, Identification Services, information for employers on bonding, insurance and tax incentives, Restoration of Rights services, and much, much more.
The following agencies will be in attendance: (subject to changes and will expand)
