“Reducing our carbon footprint can help our economy,” said Congressman-Elect Donald McEachin as he addressed the audience of business leaders at the Hampton Roads Chamber Congressional Forum on Monday, December 12th. Congressman-Elect McEachin joined Congressman Bobby Scott and Congressman-Elect Scott Taylor for the event, presented by Cox Communications, where the Congressional Delegation an opportunity to come together and speak to the Hampton Roads region about their ideals and campaign initiatives. The economy, balancing the budget, and sequestration were all primary topics of concern for the three representatives. During their time at the podium Congressman Bobby Scott addressed the need for criminal justice reform, while Congressman-Elect Scott Taylor spoke about the opportunity to reform the VA system with exploring “more private options.” A question and answer period followed, emceed by Chamber President and CEO, Bryan K. Stephens, where audience members were allowed the opportunity to ask specific questions of the representatives. Through events like the Congressional Forum the Chamber strives to be an impactful advocate for our members, offering opportunities for business leaders to meet and interact with their representatives.
