Hampton Roads Chamber Thanks Members at Inaugural Holiday Reception

Nearly 250 Chamber members came out to network and toast the holiday season at the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Membership Holiday Reception. The Chamber hosted this casual, lively event on December 2 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott to show its gratitude to its invested members, providing an opportunity to celebrate another year in business with the larger Hampton Roads business community.

The President and CEO of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Bryan K Stephens, stated, “This is the Chamber staff’s opportunity to say thanks to our members and wish them a very happy Holiday Season and a prosperous New Year.  It also gives us in the business community an opportunity to pause and reflect upon how tremendously blessed we are to live, work, and play in such an outstanding region as Hampton Roads.”

Companies of all sizes were in attendance, from one-man start-ups to large corporate partners. Members enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, casino tables, a silent auction and holiday portraits.

John Whippen, General Manager of the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, was key to making this event possible and excited to see its success. “As a city partner, we support the Chamber and support growth in the market and make ourselves available.”

Cynthia Gossman of CG Coaching & Consulting really appreciated a low-key agenda- free event. Since she’s a one-woman company, unable to host her own holiday party for friends, clients and prospective partners, she used the holiday reception in much the same way – making great connections for the year ahead.

Gossman said, “Each time I attend a chamber event, I meet new people and I am beginning to see more and more familiar faces and strengthen my newer relationships.  My circle of influence has grown tremendously since joining the Chamber in August.”

Lindsey Germono of Germono Advertising Company loved the good energy in the room, saying, “This is my first Chamber event and I am really excited to get to network with other business owners in a really relaxed setting.”

The Chamber has big plans for 2015 and encourages all members to take full advantage of their membership and be even more active in the upcoming year.
