On Tuesday, April 19, the Chamber’s Sync757 young professionals group and the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals (ULHRYP) will team up with Senator Mark Warner for “Happy Hour with a Purpose.” Young professionals from around Hampton Roads are encouraged to attend this event being held at the Tides Stadium Harbor Park in Norfolk.
Senator Warner will network with young professionals from around the region at Hits at the Park from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. before throwing out the first pitch as the Norfolk Tides AAA baseball team take on the Gwinnett Braves of Lawrenceville, Ga. Young professionals in attendance will receive the opportunity to meet and speak with Senator Warner, receive complimentary “baseball fare” and sodas, have access to a cash bar, and box seats to Norfolk Tides game at 7 p.m.
Sync757, a program of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, is a young professionals group with the goal of attracting and retaining young talent to the Hampton Roads region by providing them with opportunities to grow personally and professionally. Sync757 does this, in part, by holding monthly events that engage and enrich its members by informing them of relevant issues in the community and giving them the opportunity to learn from the region’s leaders through its “Hot Topics/Cold Sandwiches” and “Mentor757” luncheon series. Members also receive discounted and complimentary access to select Chamber events, such as “Business After Hours” and “Speed Networking,” which are designed as networking events for the local business community.
Tickets for “Happy Hour with a Purpose” are $15 for Sync757 and ULHRYP members and $30 for non-members. To register, call Lindsey Sigafoos at 757-664-2535 or e-mail her email@example.com.
