Norfolk, VA – The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce will host a Military Recognition Reception on Thursday, April 15, at 3 p.m. at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, located at 235 E. Main Street. This reception, held to honor the hardworking men and women of the military, will recognize military personnel from local commands. The service members will be joined at the reception by their families, military leadership, elected officials, and businessmen and women from the region.
The guest speaker is suspense novelist and U.S. Army Special Forces Col. John Fenzel. Col. Fenzel has served as a military assistant on the personal staff of the Secretary of Defense, Special Assistant to the Vice President, and as Staff Director for the Homeland Security Council. He was the Principal Architect of the Homeland Security Advisor System; our nation’s color-coded alert system.
The Chamber holds Military Recognition Receptions twice a year because they are such an important part of our region. This is one of many events sponsored by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce to show local support for men and women of the armed forces stationed in the area. The Chamber has been recognizing the accomplishments of the military at this reception for more than 15 years.
This event is open to the public. The cost is $25 for Chamber members and $55 for prospective members.
