HAMPTON ROADS, VA — The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the City luncheon will be held in Portsmouth on Thursday, April 8 at noon at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Waterfront Conference Center (425 Water Street). Attendees will hear from Portsmouth Mayor Dr. James W. Holley, III, and watch a video which will highlight key business development initiatives, provide strategic municipal progress updates, and address challenges and opportunities in the city. More than 300 of the region’s business, political, and community leaders will be in attendance.
The Chamber's State of the City Series has become the preferred forum for elected officials and mayors to communicate with their constituents. The State of the City addresses are annual updates of each City's progress over the past year and agenda for the upcoming year. With five events in the series, each address is held in the featured city and is given by the mayor of that city. These events are a forum for interaction among leaders in attendance.
