The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate its member Marianne Patterson on opening her new business Pure Paradise Water of Virginia Beach. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting event was held at the King Neptune statue on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk at 31st Street on April 4. Mayor Will Sessoms and Chamber President & CEO Bryan K. Stephens participated in the ribbon cutting. Marianne spoke about her company’s goals, purpose and vision and emphasized her mission on giving back to the community.

Marianne Patterson stated, “I wanted to create business that incorporates my love of both the private sector and the non-profit world.  One that doesn't only measure success by the bottom-line, but one that, also, measures its success by the amount of money that it can put back into the community. I have wanted to incorporate a few of my passions, helping people and businesses, my love of Virginia Beach and giving back to the community in a way that, truly, has an effect on the quality of life in Virginia Beach. The Virginia Aquarium Stranding Response Program serves our community in a critical way.”

Lynn Clements, Executive Director at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, was in attendance to thank Pure Paradise Water of Virginia Beach for donating 10% of their profits to the Aquarium’s Program which is led by a group of specially trained staff and volunteers. She stated, “Our Stranding Response Program is funded entirely by donations from individuals, businesses and grants. Every gift makes a difference, and every gift makes what we do for our community possible.”
