The Goodwill mission - our business is changing lives…helping people help themselves through the power of work.
Our vision is that everyone has the opportunity to find their purpose, reach their highest level of self-sufficiency, and become productive members of our community.
A large part of our mission funding comes from our stores and donated goods operation. Our stores exist as the primary economic engine for mission, but they also provide work experience for some of our clients and sometimes permanent employment. As a retailer, we process over 1 million donations and 2.6 million transactions at our stores annually.
Our operation is based on reuse, recycling and sustainability. We keep 35 million pounds of textiles, household items, and e-waste out of area landfills every year. In addition, Goodwill Document Destruction recycles over 1 million pounds of paper every year.
Through our contracting services, Goodwill provides janitorial, shelf stocking and food services to many of the military bases in our area, employing those with disabilities.
We help job seekers and businesses and deliver our mission through customized job search training, skills training, employment placement and other services. Our focus is on helping individuals with disabilities and other obstacles to employment, bringing work-ready individuals and businesses together.
Every donation of gently used items at a Goodwill store or donation site helpsan individual in need of a hand up, not a hand out.
