The Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization develops a regional blueprint, or Long-Range Transportation Plan to help guide transportation investments in order to promote system efficiency as well as to maximize the use of scarce transportation resources.
Governor Terry McAuliffe and Transportation Secretary Aubrey Layne addressed the HRTPO Board at its April 17, 2014 Board meeting. The focus of their comments was the new Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission, and its ability to be a pivotal factor in solving the transportation problems facing Hampton Roads.
City of Chesapeake for 55 and Better Comprehensive Plan Project
On April 23, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce held a joint meeting of nearly 70 members of both Boards of Directors. This meeting, at (VMASC) Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center in Suffolk, provided networking among the volunteer leadership of the two organizations, as well as an opportunity for the Chambers to address regional business issues and collaborate.
