The Hampton Roads Sports Commission is committed to providing opportunities for businesses to collaborate and make lasting connections. On Friday, October 13th they kicked off their third annual Ladies’ Day to Play Golf Tournament. “The Ladies Day to Play Golf Tournament was lots of fun!” said Dr. Lynn Ridinger of Old Dominion University. “I enjoyed golfing with my boss and meeting other successful businesswomen.”

Seventeen teams participated in the tournament as they teed off on the plush greens of Cypress Point Country Club in Virginia. Despite the rain, the ladies competed in a 9-hole tournament, where they battled for first, second and third place, closest to the pin, longest drive, and best dressed!

The Ladies’ Day to Play Golf Tournament also provided an opportunity to impact those not on the golf course. The Hampton Roads Sports Commission was honored to team up with Dress For Success Hampton Roads, a local charity that provides professional business attire, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and unused cosmetics to women in need to help them gain confidence and give them the skills and attire they need to land a job. The ladies participating in the tournament and several of our vendors donated over 100 clothing items and handbags!

Congratulation to the winners for the competitive and social flight of Ladies’ Day to Play:

1st Place: Retnaur Baynes Associates

1st Place: Monarch Mulligans (Old Dominion University)

Best dressed: “The Crayons” from STIHL
