What Does Nashville Have to Do With Hampton Roads?

"Nashville has implemented some great initiatives that have helped grow their economy, workforce and community," said Shawn Avery, President and CEO of Opportunity Inc. Avery is one of the local leaders who will join the Hampton Roads Chamber on the Inter Regional Visit to Nashville this November 28-30th.

Why Nashville? There are three key areas of Nashville's success that Hampton Roads can specifically benefit from: Economic Development, Workforce Development, and Infrastructure Development as an economic catalyst. The visit will include a narrated economic development tour of all that makes Nashville a thriving metropolis. Discussions with regional thinkers, planners and doers will center on the build of Nashville's downtown attractions. We will attend a Nashville Predators hockey game, the parent team of the Norfolk Admirals, and participate in a behind the scenes tour of the Bridgestone Arena. We’ll look at Nashville’s business community's priorities for a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, attracting and retaining talent, and explosive growth of the healthcare industry. The visit will also offer a chance to learn how our region can better develop our brand and sense of place.

"This visit will give Hampton Roads leaders the opportunity to see some of these efforts firsthand," said Avery, "and hopefully spark some ideas for our region." The Hampton Roads Chamber works tirelessly as an inspiring ignitor to provide our members and local business leaders with the opportunities explore regional business issues and emerging economic opportunities. The Inter Regional Visit is a unique experience designed to have a tangible impact on the future of the Hampton Roads region.
